“As the Director of Marketing and Media Relations at OPTYX, New York, I have the distinct pleasure of witnessing firsthand the evolution of eyewear into a pivotal fashion statement. This journey, marked by innovation and style, has been significantly shaped by the eyewear industry legend, Optyx New York owner, my friend and mentor Harvey Ross. His foresight in recognizing the integral role of eyewear in the fashion industry has set the foundation for our brand’s philosophy and success as well as serving as a visionary in the industry. I am truly blessed to work with him, and learn from him.

As 20/20 Magazine celebrates 50 years inspiring and educating the eyewear industry and the public, they chose to use a quote from Harvey in the February 2024 issue, that could have easily been a quote today. Reflecting on a quote from Harvey in 20/20 Magazine back in 1976, “The tidal wave of fashion which started in the clothing industry is now enveloping every area of eyewear fashion. Eyewear is becoming an increasingly significant accessory in the total fashion ensemble, with designs closely aligned with contemporary clothing and hairstyling trends,this says one thing to me: The practitioner who becomes more knowledgeable about frame fashion, and puts that knowledge into his or her practice, is going to reap the rewards”
